Red Velvet Cake.
Saturday, June 12, 2010 11:47 PM

okay, this is going to be a pretty long entry so bear with me :D

anyhooo, what started the whole "WANT TO BAKE A VELVET CAKE" frenzy was me staring at the picture of velvet underground on my desktop.

(note the picture on the bottom left corner !)

*sidetrack: i just applied Khiel's Lip Balm and it tastes like oil, YEUCH*

okay, so it reminded me of the picture of the red velvet cake i saw on joyofbaking and i called lana and yada yada and we decided to bake it.

met up to buy the ingredients and it added up to an astonishing amount of...

but it was also because i bought an electric mixer and 2 baking tins (cos for some reason, lana and i both lost ours :x) oh, and it's also because we bought ingredients for 2 cakes.

the clean up after (and during the baking) was a bitch.

after that i still had to cut the cake into 3 cos i wanted to make a three-layered cake.

we forgot to take a picture of the frosting itself. but who cares. by then we were just too shagged cos we made two cakes IN A ROW OKAY.

pretty rigggght?

can you guys tell that it was supp to be in the shape of pac-man? :x i used crushed kit-kat for the eye.

cake was alright but i guess i should have beat the frosting longer cos there's still the grainy sugar-feel ): ohwell, but it's quite alright considering that it's my first time baking a cake FROM SCRATCH okay. haha, okay. bye.
